Our beloved Bichon, Sebastian, crossed the Rainbow Bridge at 8:42am on March 19, 2024, peacefully in the arms of his Papa, Rickey.

Sebastian was born on June 11, 2008, in McKinney, Texas. He shared that special day with his grandparents, Charles & Rebecca Collins’, wedding day, who on this particular day, celebrated their 42nd anniversary.

Sebastian traveled the country, residing with his parents, Rickey and Brian, in the states of Pennsylvania and Oklahoma, but his favorite residences were always in the Great State of Texas. Wherever they called home, Sebastian was the Protector and Guardian of his parents, siblings, and Grandma Collins. No one was able to step foot on the property or in the home without his permission.

Sebastian loved and was very protective of small animals. He watched over the baby turtles and rabbits that roamed the farm and yard, so much so that at one time while on his grandparents farm in Denison, stared down a bull in the front pasture, without giving up his ground. He imitated the bull by snorting and kicking up dirt with his paws! The bull finally walked away. Sebastian saved the day once again! While residing in Pennsylvania, he would take nature walks with his Papa Rickey along the nearby trails of the home. On one particular day, he decided to take off and run with the local deer that lived in woods behind the home. It was a sight to see his parents climbing over fences and through brush to “capture” Sebastian and bring him back to civilization! Sebastian never showed fear, either at the beginning, middle, or end of his life on this earth.

His vice was sweets. He loved pie, so much that on his last night he shared a piece of apricot pie with his Daddy Brian. He also loved his nightly treats, which had to be presented at 9pm sharp! His Papa Rickey would prepare the tasty morsels for Sebastian and his siblings, during which time Sebastian would hop around like an excited rabbit anxiously waiting to be given his nightly reward.

His favorite place to take naps was on the extra large Chaise Lounge in the Office. A quilt, made by his great-great-grandmother, Dellie Collins, was his favorite pallet to lay on. Sometimes, if Sebastian was in a good mood, he would share this special space with his fur-brother, Samson. He was not a fan of vets or groomers, although he would tolerate them when required.

More than anything, Sebastian loved his family. He was a great source of joy and cheer. We will hold him in our hearts forever and he will never be forgotten. He is survived by his parents, Rickey and Brian, grandmother, Rebecca, elder sister, Diva (16), younger brothers, Caesar (15) and Samson (5) as well as fur-cousins Krystle, Alexis, Zeke, and Bella.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you spend quality time with your own pet in memory of Sebastian today.
